The Need for Speed when Printing on the Afinia L701 or Epson CW-C6500

Print speed is important for two reasons: it can save you time and free your  label printer for the next print job, boosting productivity as a result. The  Afinia L701 and the Epson CW-C6500 are both capable 8-inch color label printers, but they are worlds apart in terms of print speed.

If your business only prints a few labels each day or tends to print narrow labels, then the Epson CW-C6500's slow print speed might be just fine. But if you frequently print large labels or need to print hundreds of labels each day, then the Afinia L701's much faster print speed will be a better fit for your needs.

The Epson CW-C6500 uses a moving printhead, so it's much slower at wider widths. In fact, if you print an 8-inch label at 1200 dpi (the C6500's highest resolution), the print speed is just 0.20 inches per second. That's really slow, but again, probably fine if you're a home-based business with the occasional label to print.

On the other hand, the Afinia L701 uses a stationary printhead, so it's much faster at all widths. In fact, to print the same 8-inch-wide label at 1600x1600 dpi (the L701's highest resolution), the print speed is an incredible 6 inches per second. The L701's lower resolution of 1600x800 prints at 8 inches per second.

The Afinia L701's faster print speed means that you can get your labels printed right away and move on to the next job more quickly, which can be a big timesaver if you're printing hundreds of labels each day. Plus, the print quality is far superior than the Epson CW-C6500's, so you don't have to sacrifice quality for speed.

So if you have a need for speed, the Afinia L701 is the way to go. It's faster at all widths and resolutions, so it can save you a lot of time in the long run while producing higher-quality labels.
